This novel has been a labor of love.
It was inspired by my friend Phil Lorenz's idea to write a story in which every child, or, for that matter, every person, can have the ability to be extraordinary. No longer do you need to be a wizard or Jedi, or need to be bitten by a radioactive bug, or a victim of some strange science experiment gone horribly wrong. You simply just need to be a good person to be worthy of such gifts.
So, over lunch at The Piazza, our favorite restaurant, we brainstormed ideas that made our kids superheroes. After a few years and dozens of rewrites, The Keepers’ New Army was finished.
A special thanks to two amazing young women, Megha Saravanan and Preeta Swaminathan! When Megha and Preeta were in high school, they interned at my law office. Due to their amazing intellect and love of reading, they each, at different times, became my primary editors. Anyone who has met Megha and/or Preeta, knows to expect great things from them.
Thank you to the handful of friends and family members who read my book and provided me with their critique, opinions, ideas, and, most importantly, support.
Lastly, my biggest appreciation is reserved for my biggest supporters: Marium, my amazing wife; and Sharon and Ed, the greatest parents anyone could hope for. And of course, to our heroes; Phil’s kids, Verona and Lincoln, and my beautiful children, Adam and Lake.
